Altinkum
About Altinkum
Set on a sandy bay, Altinkum is a purpose-built resort with a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Altinkum is a haven for beach lovers, and there are no fewer than three within easy reach. Altinkum’s Main Beach is a long wide stretch of golden sand, where you can bask in the sun, potter about in a pedalo or try out a range of water sports. The Second Beach is just along the promenade, and a mile away, beyond the harbour, Altinkum’s Third Beach offers a quieter environment and clear and sparkling waters.
Altinkum has recently become one of Turkey's most popular property hotspots - indeed one of the hottest property investment tips in Europe. Prices of property in Altinkum remain very low in comparison to other tourist destinations in Turkey and the resort is becoming increasingly popular with those who bought in Spain during the Spanish property boom and are now looking to sell up and invest their money in the next up-and-coming location.
Altinkum lends itself well to property development - while much of Turkey's beautiful coastline is mountainous, Altinkum Bay is wide and relatively flat, which has allowed the resort to expand and fulfil the high demand for property in the area.
Altinkum is ideally located on the Turkish Aegean's tourist trail. Altinkum boasts a number of fantastic attractions of its own, such as the stunning beaches for which it is named (Altin-kum means Golden Sand), sparkling clear turquoise waters, a wide choice of bars, restaurants and cafes, a funfair, a nearby Aqua Park and, of course, the famous Temple of Apollo at Didyma, on a site originating from the eighth century BC. Altinkum is also within a short journey of the historic sites of Priene, Miletos, Dalyan and Bodrum, and tours are available to Ephesus, Pamukkale and many other nearby tourist destinations.
Altinkum is a friendly resort and you will find the locals laid back and relaxed in their attitude towards tourists. You will get to know them quickly and they will enjoy nothing better than chatting over a glass of Turkey's famous apple tea. Don't be surprised if you return year after year to visit your newfound friends!
